The Outlaw Pro Headtorch comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 product inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.
Description: rechargeable headtorch.
Specifications: charges from a USB port; charging cable supplied; five modes;
600 lumens; battery life of up to six hours; four hours charging time; torch can be activated by waving it, thanks to a built-in sensor; showerproof; adjustable headband; 1,200mAh Lithium Battery.
My verdict: Outlaw Pro is a ‘new kid on the block’, having launched a host of products in 2020, from bait to clothing.
This headtorch has a lot going for it. The 50 and 75 per cent intensity modes will help you to get on with bivvy jobs, light a stove and tie rigs in the dark.
The half floodlight setting is useful for wrapping line around distance sticks or for spodding out bait.
The full floodlight setting is ideal for highlighting island margins when casting. There’s also an option for a red flashing light, which you might choose when fishing from a boat or when you need help.
I like the idea that you can wave it to get it functioning, an upward movement turning it on, downward turning it off, as it saves you fiddling around in the dark trying to find a button.
